Dariye, who spoke to LEADERSHIP through his media consultant, Yakubu Dati, referred to Hoomkwap as "the mother of modern Plateau politics," adding that her exit has created "a vacuum that would not be filled in decades to come."
He said the deceased female political icon "preached politics without bitterness, not as it is being practiced in the country today. She was a woman of extra inspiration, positive and dynamic in actions whose honesty and sincerity of purpose demonstrated that politicians can stay corruption free and still achieve their goals.
"Her dreams and aspirations were catapulted towards ensuring that healthcare delivery was taken to the grassroots people both in Plateau and the present day
On her readiness to always sacrifice her personal pursuit for the state, Dariye said "this was a woman who manifested the spirit of patriotism by withdrawing from studies after enrolling for a masters programme at the University of Manchester, United Kingdom and took up the challenge of becoming the state commissioner for health when she was appointed by Chief Solomon Lar. Lar was the governor of the state in the second republic.
"Although it is heart rending that she left us so soon and the vacuum she left will be difficult to fill, I am certain that she is in the right hand of God where she is enjoying everlasting life," Dariye further said.
