My Cherished Friend Kate!
May be you know her - - -
She gracefully, beautifully dances through life.
Listening to the music of her heart.
Agelessly, tirelessly, lovingly.
She inspires and teaches.
Her spirit reflected in her eyes.
Always doing what she does best - - -
Touching those around her.
My true friend --- you’re beautiful inside and out.
You gracefully, beautifully made your exit from us to your eternal bliss.
I can’t believe it is one year already – it all seems so fresh with every passing day. There are so many things that continue to make your absence so fresh – that continue to make the void so obvious. The pain of loss so great each time.
One continues to come face to face with those your unfulfilled dreams; unfinished businesses and endless plans for everybody that was part of your life and indeed one of the strands that form the beautiful tapestry that was your life.
Kate dear continue to work “overtime” in heaven to see that those great dreams and plans of yours, those wishes and great desires of yours come through by your powerful intercession before the throne of God. Is it that of the Hoomkwaps, the Balas, the Church in Nigeria, especially NCCWO and Veritas University, SLOGA/SLOSA as St. Louis College Jos clocks 50 years; is it that of the power works which cost you a lot; is it CHAN where you laboured to put on its feet; is it the churches teachings that you could lay down your life to defend ad so on –?
Well Kate you know that the void is too difficult to fill in by anybody – so continue to work THERE till you raise those that will fill the voids physically. One thing I know is that you will not leave those voids for too long. I know you are interceding for us all at the throne of God and that God will continue to fill the void with His presence. Pray for continuous increase of faith for your loved ones.
Sleep on Kate! It has been a difficult year for those who cherish you! But we all feel your consoling union with us from heaven.
Good night Kate! Sleep on in peace!
POVERTY AND THE FAMILY IN THE THIRD WORLD
The family remains the basic unit of society in the world today. In its modern meaning, the family is that social unit comprising a man, his wife and their children. In most sub-Saharan African countries, the extended family, which is a more inclusive definition of the family, includes uncles, aunts, cousins, grandparents and other distant relations. This paper has deliberately chosen to make the family its center-piece for a number of reasons.
